I just got through watching “The Watch” with my wife. The first thing she said when we walked out was “That was definitely a YOU movie.” And she was right. The movie stars Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and, fairly new to American audiences, Richard Ayoade (of The IT Crowd fame). It revolves around a group of individuals brought together by the untimely death of a Costco security guard.

I would have to say this is one of the most raunchiest movies I have ever seen. Funny, but raunchy. I would never take my kids to see it, nor would I let them watch it when they are teenagers. It’s one of those movies that teenagers would sneak into. Multiple adults walked out of the theater during the showing I went to. I can understand that they didn’t know THAT was going to happen (the trailer is EXTREMELY misleading as to which direction it is going to go), but if you’ve already watch 3/4’s of the movie, you shouldn’t walk out by then.

Overall, this movie gets a 5 in my book. The worst part is that I was hoping it would do good in theaters so that Richard Ayoade could get praise. Even though he was the best part of the movie, to me, I hope this isn’t what breaks him.

    1. Haha. Good question. A ME movie is basically a Kevin Smith movie. You knwo the tyopes of jokes I am talking about :) Another example of a ME movie would be Jack Brooks’ Monster Slayer. I LOVED that one though!!
