Walking Dead Get Huge Audience

Re-posting from the RHM Facebook page:

Wow, The Walking Dead 3rd season premiere watched by almost 11 million in the 18-49 demographic. Execs at NBC, ABC, FOX, & CBS would drool at those numbers. TWD is probably the best TV show shot in Georgia (Here Comes Honey Boo Boo not considered).

Walking Dead Season 3 Character Death Odds

walking-dead-season-3-group-shot-by-gene-page
How safe will the prison be? Photo by Gene Page for amctv.com.

My speculation does NOT factor in spoilers/plot developments of the comic, of which I don’t read. These aren’t vetted by people in Vegas, so no serious wagers, please.

UPDATE – 2 December: Adjusted odds for the Fall finale. I think either Herschel, Carol, or Merle will not survive past the Fall.

Herschel Greene 9:1

I’m guessing that the old man will be the first death of the season to establish that it’s the “prison season.”

Carol 5:1

Just as we warm up to her and Daryl…boom! I think she’ll die early in the season.

Merle 5:1

He’s just fodder for the inevitable mega-fight with Daryl.

T-Dog 6:1

I don’t know if there’s enough room for TWO head-bashing Black people on the show. Tsk, tsk.

Decent new recurring character who’ll die too soon while some of the idiotic women listed below live 6:1

I said “some.”

Maggie 15:1

I was torn between her and Andrea, but Andrea will get major plot protection from Michonne’s buddy.

Andrea 50:1

She’ll probably the “shocking swerve death” late in the season (i.e. next year) at most.

Glenn 200:1

He’s the scrappy underdog of the group. Glenn won’t likely be a goner unless the powers-that-be find a “replacement.”

He’s more than proven his worth in the penultimate Fall episode. He could potentially be the bravest walker fighter on the show.

Lori 100:1

Worst character in the show, IMO, with her incredible idiocy. The most plausible member of the Grimes family to go this year, but that’s unlikely, to give Rick an emotional reason to continue living.

DEAD! I forgot about the pregnancy complication.

Carl 1000:1

Won’t miss him, either.

Way too firey to get rid of this season.

Daryl 300:1

I agree with many that he’s awesome, but I don’t he’s completely safe from zombification, either.

Michonne 350:1

One-season wonder? Nah.

Rick 700:1

If he dies, then who would lead the group? Worst possible swerve death even if I’m not a fan of his.

UPDATE: Showing signs of mental instability. That’s enough for me to lower his odds a bit from 1000:1.

My Image Expo Experience---Day Two

[NOTE: Here’s part one and part three!]

First off, this was the view from our room. AMAZING

View of Oakland

The show starts at 10 the next day (Saturday the 25th of February). I raced to get ready and got everyone breakfast. We walked down to the exhibit hall at 0945. There was a bigger line, but not anything as big as Wonder Con. We got in the MVP line. The excitement is uncontainable! The doors open. I rush to Ryan Ottley first! I pulled out my book and walked over to his booth. The look on his face…he knew I would be back. I pulled out my money to pay the kind sir and was on my way to rest of the convention.

My Image Expo Experience---Day One

[Check out Parts TWO & THREE! – Ed.]

Image Expo. The most glorious convention EVER! Todd McFarlane!! Eric Larsen!!! Mark Silvestri!!! Rob Liefeld!!(?) Whilce Portacio!! Jim Valentino!! Robert Kirkman!!! And even more?!?! YES!! The ULTIMATE convention came and left a huge void to be filled. More on that later.

I remember the day I found out there would be an Image Expo. It was a few weeks after finding out that WonderCon would not be held in San Francisco this year. It made my day. I started to remember all the times I had visited the Image booth at WonderCon and, looking back, it’s the only place I KEPT going back to. Weird enough, I had only been collecting four Image titles at that time (Haunt, Elephantmen, The Walking Dead and Invincible). Regardless of not knowing too much about what was going on in Image, I decided I would pay the $300 ($150 apiece) for the MVP passes for me and my wife*.

Months went by. I wanted the convention to happen already! I would check the website (http://www.imagecomicexpo.com/ ) every day. I would get more and more excited when they’d update the site with new exclusives! After months of preparing for the convention (in mind, body and soul), it was finally upon me! I was on my way to Oakland! Continue reading “My Image Expo Experience—Day One”
